FACILITATING CREATIVE EXPRESSION

Youth engage in programs designed to promote personal development and self-expression.  Throughout the year, ARK youth are able to showcase their talents through various creative and performing arts programs.  Weekly programming includes:

DANCE

Participants ages 6-14 learn various dance techniques including ballet, jazz, African, hip hop, prophetic praise, and modern dance. In addition to teaching the youth how to dance, the instructors help to strengthen the self-esteem of youth through life skills classes and mentoring.

ARTS + CRAFTS

Youth ages 6-14 participate in arts and crafts activities that allow them to express themselves creatively, while also enhancing their artistic skills. Youth in the program learn foundational skills such as color theory, basic oil clay sculpting, line drawings, handcraft material objects, charcoal still life drawings, and value scale during this class.

DRAMA

Youth ages 6-14 have the opportunity to sign up for Drama class.  Youth are taught the importance of creative writing, storytelling, and performance.  Youth in the program develop and perform a short stage play that addresses issues that affect their peers on a day to day basis.
